Pros: Price. You get Medela quality for a fraction of the cost of their other pumps. Compact. The Medela Single Deluxe is very good for traveling with. About 60% of reports are positive about the amount of milk they are able to collect and the amount of time it takes.
Cons: Many reports that the pump is very loud. Several reports that the pump motor burnt out after a few weeks. Battery mode reportedly does not work as well as electric. Some reports of discomfort. About 40% of reports are from women who are not satisfied with the amount of milk they collect with it.
Our recommendation: Definitely not for every day use. Positive and negative reports were split almost in half. From what we were able to gather, most women who used it as an occasional pump or to just help with engorgement, were very happy. Women who used it every day were let down. Because of the price and the Medela name, we definitely recommend it for OCCASIONAL USE ONLY.
